Esordio in massima Serie nel Gaeta Sporting Club, poi Bologna, Conversano e ritorno a Gaeta dove dal 2008 inizia anche ad allenare. Patentino 3 livello, arriva in Serie A1 con Gaeta poi, Molteno, Cassano Magnago Femminile ed ora in forza all'Handball Estense.

Una vita per la pallamano, inizia a giocare a Sarajevo, all' età di 12 anni si trasferisce in Serbia e gioca nella squadra Zrk Loznica. Fa parte della selezione giovanile nazionale Serba. Nel 2000 ritorna nella squadra bosniaca Zrk Zeljeznicar allenata da Svetlana Kitic vince coppa Bosniaca. Successivamente inizia l'avventura in Italia dove nel 2001 gioca in Sicilia, Messina e Palermo. Poi Cassano Magnago, Ariosto, Nuoro e di nuovo Cassano Magnago , la squadra del cuore dove inizia anche la carriera da allenatrice fino a raggiungere il terzo livello.

Due scudetti ed una coppa Italia con Conversano, 58 presenza in nazionale, Leo Lopasso è uno dei migliori preparatori di portieri in circolazione. Nel 2019 preparatore dei portieri della nazionale. Ricopre attualmente la carica di allenatore dei portieri del Conversano, campione d' italia in carica.
